SUMMARY: The Mortgage Loan Servicer performs administrative tasks to support the mortgage loan servicing department.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following, with Quality Member Service being the primary responsibility of this position.  Other duties may be assigned.

 Maintain personal and departmental confidentiality regarding Standards of Conduct and in all matters of the Credit Union.

 Ensures timely payment of taxes, insurance, mortgage insurance and other escrow disbursements of loans serviced

 Administers tasks related to escrow accounts, including the disposition of incoming notifications regarding taxes and insurance and flood insurance

 Manages Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) program

 Researches member service questions and provide resolutions to membership and team members as appropriate

Assists in escrow analysis research

Issues payoff statements, accepts payments, and posts daily payments as necessary

Assists in Meridian Link/Symitar End of Day balancing process

Performs new loan set-ups to Servicing System


QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree preferred or at a minimum, Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and/or a minimum of 2 years related mortgage loan servicing with an emphasis on escrow administration and cash processing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a financial institution.   Personal computer skills required with proficiency in Word, Excel. Must have broad knowledge of principles and practices and laws governing financial services.  Requires knowledge of current mortgage lending origination, processing and underwriting practices.  Requires understanding of current mortgage lending compliance procedures.   Must have in-depth understanding of the mortgage loan servicing process.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires through knowledge of Credit Union products and services.  Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills required.  Must be able to operate all basic office equipment and must be PC literate with Windows applications and excel.  Incumbent must have a through knowledge of Credit Union payment systems and card operation processes. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
