Accounting Manager

TechTarget is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Finance organization reporting directly to the Assistant Controller.  This is an excellent long-term growth opportunity for the right individual who would be interested in progressing with a dynamic, growing business.


Essential Job Functions:  


  • Management of the accounts payable, payroll, stock compensation, travel & expense report processing utilizing Concur, and general ledger accounting;
  • Manage and mentor a team of four direct reports;
  • Review and approve monthly journal entries and account reconciliations;
  • Prepare accruals and or adjusting entries based on analysis;
  • Prepare monthly payroll reconciliations for all companies;
  • Preparation of monthly Travel & Expense reports for submission to company management;
  • Oversight of sales and use tax returns in conjunction with support from tax department
  • Participation in establishing and maintaining internal accounting controls;
  • Assist in the preparation of financial information schedules in support of internal and external audits as well as SEC reporting; and
  • Assist with any other needs of the assistant controller in daily Accounting functions.


Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting;
  • 5-7 years of previous general ledger accounting experience;
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Prior experience in managing and mentoring a staff;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables; and,
  • Prior knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP systems preferred, as well as Concur travel and expense management system and ADP PayeXpert.
