Primary Purpose of the Job:

 

Work with the Events and Engagement team to produce Food Bank events throughout the year.  Support development and engagement of Food Bank Committees

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Assist the Events and Engagement team in the logistical coordination of each event from the earliest planning stages to the execution and acknowledgement phases.

  • Serve as the lead on several events throughout the year.
  • Support committee engagement work throughout the year.
  • Research, prospect, solicit, and maintain detailed status reports for auction and other in-kind donations for Special Events.  
  • Prepare agendas, reports, timelines, and budgets throughout the year.
  • Prepare detailed recap reports of Food Bank event results and exposure. Maintain records of key learnings and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Contribute ideas on ways to update existing events and the development of new events.
  • Research successful and innovative events occurring in the NYC market and identify best practices.
  • Support Marketing and Communications Team as needed for special projects.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

 

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.A. Degree preferred
  • 2 years work experience in Events, Development or Marketing
  • High degree of organization and pro-active planning
  • Comfort in a fast-paced and detail-oriented environment
  • Creative thinker and problem solver with a focus on results
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills
  • Strong MS Office skills essential
  • Experience with fundraising database software, Raiser’s Edge ideal
  • Belief in and support of Food Bank For New York City's mission
  • Previous non-profit experience preferred, but not required
