Job Opening:  International Sales Manager
 
Leatherman Tool Group, Inc. is seeking an International Sales Manager.  Leatherman is the world leader in the design and manufacturer of innovative, high quality, compact, multi-purpose tools.  We employ over 500 team members in our 90,000 square feet facility located in Portland, Oregon.  The selected candidate will also be responsible for our light brand “Ledlenser” which is a global leader on the mobile lighting segment. This position will be based in Europe and is expected to travel 50% of the time.  (Based anywhere in Europe ok, should have easy access to a major airport)

The successful candidate for the International Sales Manager will be responsible for meeting sales goals set with effective, sound channel partners who support Leatherman’s / Ledlenser’s international sales and corporate strategies which will include the creation and implementation of territory and key account / distributor plans.  The International Sales Manager will establish channel strategies and provide existing customers with product, sales, service and marketing guidance, motivate channel partners and ensure channel partner performance is consistent with Leatherman’s / Ledlenser’s philosophy while maximizing profits for both brands.
 
 
Duties:
 
  • Work cooperatively with channel partners to establish sales and marketing goals for territory and key accounts.
  • Identify short and long term opportunities for sales expansion in assigned territories and accounts – develop sales plans and execute.
  • Develop and execute channel segmentation initiatives with our distribution partners.
  • Assess performance of current channel partners and develop and execute improvement plans – areas of responsibility include channel penetration; pricing, trade show attendance; adherence to brand message; marketing effectiveness analysis; warranty service; sales effectiveness; creditworthiness; customer service; organizational strength.
  • Identify and call on key accounts / distributors to build positive relationships and ensure customer sales, service and marketing performance meet Leatherman’s / Ledlenser’s expectations.
  • Support and advocate needs of channel partners within Leatherman.
  • Attend international and regional trade shows; responsible for developing and implementing strategies for maximizing show success and assist in coordinating trade show arrangements.
  • Work with channel partners and Leatherman / Ledlenser marketing departments to develop and implement promotions and marketing initiatives.
  • Keep abreast of social, cultural and government issues that impact Leatherman’s business in assigned territories.
  • Research target sales segments and channels in assigned territories and develop recommendations for actions to the organization based on this information.
  • Act as a resource for interpreting and communicating international market issues and requirements with Leatherman and Ledlenser.
  • Assist in gathering VOC, VOCP on product prototypes and international market input on other topics.
