Position Summary
The Claims Resolution Specialist/Paralegal acts as the main point of contact for claimants (client customers) who report claims for evaluation and resolution. This position will open and investigate claims and request and evaluate all information from internal or external sources to ascertain completeness and validity of claims, as well as determine and communicate appropriate resolution of claims.
 
Responsibilities and Expectations
  • Evaluate pre-litigation claims, including subrogated claims
  • Research and evaluate claims by reviewing available work order, loan history and related documentation
  • Data entry and tracking of information into SPI and Archer systems
  • Communicate information to internal and external claimants and management team
  • Produce weekly and monthly status reports – open/closed claims by client
  • Negotiate settlement within settlement authority
  • Tender and monitor availability of vendor insurance
  • Correspond with vendor management staff and vendors regarding vendor errors and issues involved in claims
  • Prepare and execute denial letters with Administrative Assistant

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in legal or investigative environment preferred
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications required
  • Mortgage and insurance industry experience a plus
  • Demonstrates continuous analytical and follow-up capability
