Event Coordinator
TechTarget is seeking an Event Coordinator who will be responsible for working closely with the Conference, Seminar and Custom Event Sponsors as well as Internal Teams to fulfill all aspects of custom, conference and seminar event contracts; including contract management, client relations, and onsite management.
The Event Coordinator will work closely with internal marketing and operational groups to develop and maintain all aspects of the event process. In this capacity, the coordinator will work with multiple clients to fulfill and execute custom, seminar and conference contracts.
Essential job functions:
  • Work with customers to ensure key deliverables are understood and fulfilled.
  • Provide onsite support at all events, travel is required up to 60%
  • Secure hotel venues, A/V and all printed materials for events
  • Work with venues on room set ups and negotiations of cost on food and beverage and audio visual
  • Work within specific budget guides and tightly track project expenses,
  • Coordinate client needs with multiple departments; marketing, delegate recruitment
  • Work closely with the editorial team to coordinate speaker travel, cost and billing
  • Coordinate event logistics, including registration and attendee tracking, presentation and materials support and pre- and post-event evaluations
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • 1+ years in event and/or hotel experience required;
  • Familiarity with banquet event orders and hotel procedures;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines;
  • Ability to multi-task and follow-up with an eye for detail;
  • MS office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) experience helpful;
  • Experience working with and communicating to customers a must; and
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
