TechTarget is looking for a motivated, creative and analytical thinker with strong communication and leadership skills to join the Brand and Custom Media team in our Newton, MA office.
The Paid Search Specialist will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of pay-per-click (PPC) advertising campaigns on major search engines including Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. The position requires strategic thinking in addition to daily campaign management to drive cost-efficient PPC growth both domestically and internationally. You will report to the Senior Director, Online Traffic, Analytics and Conversion Optimization.
The Paid Search Specialist will drive keyword research initiatives, campaign alignment and creative design. You will work with several other departments within TechTarget to maximize the performance and efficiency of the PPC campaigns. This includes developing new strategies, supporting multiple unique businesses and testing everything from keywords to landing pages.
In this role, you will also be asked to stay current on developments and trends relevant to PPC and the Search Engine Marketing industry as a whole.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Create, manage and optimize PPC campaigns in support of business goals across TechTarget’s network of web sites;
  • Continuously review and optimize PPC campaigns, including thorough analysis of profitability of campaigns, landing page quality, downstream feedback of lead and traffic quality, etc.;
  • Select and refine SEM keyword lists;
  • Generate new ideas for PPC campaign structure and management;
  • Continuously improve tracking, reporting and profitability of the PPC efforts;
  • Weekly and monthly reporting of key performance metrics;
  • Research and develop PPC best practices to identify new tools and growing opportunities within the SEM industry;
  • Design and execute testing for campaign structure, keywords, creatives and landing pages;
  • Analyze and translate test data into recommendations for revising and expanding campaigns;
  • Monitor all active campaigns to ensure that goals are met within budget requirements; and,
  • Utilize country-specific search engines to expand international PPC campaigns
Knowledge, skills and abilities required
  • Bachelor's degree; preferably in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, Statistics or Mathematics;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly MS Excel);
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical, quantitative and critical thinking skills;
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once, reprioritize as needed and consistently deliver on time;
  • Ability to manage own time accurately and effectively;
  • Ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment;
  • Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to consistently meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility;
  • Experience with PPC campaign management and optimization tools preferred;
  • Understanding of search engine algorithms and PPC auction concepts preferred; and,
  • A quantitative approach to traffic measurement and experience with collecting and interpreting site visitor statistics.
