Helen of Troy, designer, developer and worldwide marketer of brand name personal care and household consumer products has an immediate opening for a Design and Development Specialist.


SUMMARY

Provides marketing and sales support with the most current and accurate marketing and sales collateral. Creates conceptual designs and images, as requested by the Marketing Department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitors marketing activity for existing product changes and updates, as well as, new product additions. Updates the Hair Care Images Folder constantly with the most current and accurate images in both high and low resolution.

Works closely with all Marketing Departments, including Retail Appliances, BCA, and Professional to provide product digitizing, image cropping, retouch, and color corrections.

Provides images and logos to the sales force in the required format by working closely with the Creative Department and very often photography and preparing images.

Photographs and catalogues competitive inventory, including recording retail prices, UPC codes, dimensions, and images of all competitive products received.

Produces conceptual designs for both the Marketing and Sales Departments.

Provides creative design services, i.e., designing catalog formats, sales sheet formats, CD covers, presentation covers, posters, etc.

Initiates and maintains the organization and back-up of all department work files.

Creates interactive CDs, including the design and preparation of information, coding, and image retouching using macromedia programs, i.e., Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and/or Flash.

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT REQUIRED

Associate Degree from an accredited college or university in related profession/field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Requires 1-2 years of experience.

Experience Details: Experience in utilizing computers as an artistic medium of communication.

Requires a strong working knowledge of PowerPoint, Macromedia (Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and Flash), Adobe Photoshop, and other graphics-related programs using Mac and Windows platforms.

Requires the ability to work overtime, as needed.

Excellent photography, color correcting, and retouching skills
