Job description: 

Main responsibilities are the direct onsite support of all UCT users at the Pflugerville, TX office location.  Remote management of many projects, including SCCM, Postini mail security, VMware and Citrix administration, Sharepoint Server and Exchange 2007 server.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of system administration duties, including support of corporate enterprise application, databases, laptops, servers and network equipment. 
  • Leverage the internal help-desk support systems and processes to ensure that IT issues impacting employees worldwide are quickly resolved. 
  • Proactively oversee the monitoring of all IT devices, applications and services using a combination of tools, including HP Insight Manager, Microsoft SCCM. 
  • Manage and trouble shoot networks as well as intranet and internet connectivity throughout the organization. 
  • Administer and maintain Blackberry, DHCP, DNS, Exchange, FTP, IIS, SQL, Postini mail gateway.  Sharepoint Server Administration and configuration. 
  • Configure and setup servers and virtual machines. 
  • Knowledge of Citrix server farms and CMware administration. 
  • Troubleshoot issues with Outlook/Exchange, wireless, VPN, network and printer connectivity. 
  • Maintain Microsoft security patches as well as antivirus and antispyware software on desktop and laptop systems. 
  • Track and manage assigned IT projects as needed.

Educational/Certification Requirement:

BS/BA degree in computer science, information technology or an equivalent field.

Experience:

Five to seven years of related IT experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):

  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and presentation skills.
  • Windows system administration experience, both server and desktop.
  • Able to design and manage networks.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, SNMP, Active Directory, SSL, VPN/Cisco Pix, IIS/SMS/WSUS, MS SQL, Cisco VOIP.
  • Well versed in MS Exchange 2003/2007/2010, Server 2003/20008, BES, VMware, Veritas Netbackup, NAS and SAN.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project management skills & problem solving skills
  • Technical abilities appropriate to responsibilities
  • Experience working manufacturing and factory floor issues.
  • Skillen in data analysis, supplier feedback, action tracking, data presentation and improvement plan definition and mgmt using performance data.
