JOB SUMMARY: 
 
We are seeking a successful and qualified Quality Assurance Specialist.  This individual must have two years of Personal and Commercial Lines experience, with knowledge of policy, billing, claims, rating, or equivalent experience with Quality Assurance and testing.  In addition, be able to demonstrate knowledge of Quality Assurance techniques and processes.

 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Thoroughly tests software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects
  • Utilize necessary analytical skills to develop and maintain knowledge of in-house / vendor systems, formulas, rate specifications, manual rules, and state filing information in order to identify unusual, inconsistent or error conditions
  • Perform testing of revisions and new state programs, including cosmetic evaluation of rating products and display of data on printed forms by targeted completion dates
  • Assists in monitoring production results
  • Develops test plans and test cases based on decomposed requirements
  • Creates test data per specifications
  • Executes test runs and  validates actual results against expected results
  • Documents all problems and works to resolve them; reports progress to management
  • Analyzes, confirms, and documents customer requirements and specifications
  • Work is subject to strict quality standards and deadlines
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE
 
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or equivalent education and experience in the business information technology field.
  • Two years of experience in Underwriting, Underwriting Support, Premium Accounting, or Claims.
  • Basic knowledge of Insurance and Claims applications. Property & Casualty Insurance Industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate complex problems involving various audiences.  Ability to evaluate situations and make appropriate recommendations.  Strong analytical and decision making skills,
  • Strong customer service, problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills.  Ability to multi-task, plan and focus on detail.
  • Ability to learn new software systems and programs.
  • Ability to use normal office equipment.
  • Computer literate; advanced Microsoft Office skills (to include data entry accuracy and detail orientation skills).
