Service Delivery Engineering Associate

A Network Engineering Associate is responsible for assisting data and voice engineers with network documentation, testing and deployments.  The successful employee must have a strong understanding of basic networking concepts such as STP, DHCP, VLANS, IP Subnetting and IP Routing. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee equipment and service configuration
  • Assign IP Addresses and Equipment to customer work orders
  • Responsible for the lifecycle of all customer and equipment orders
  • Support Tier II ticket escalations from our Network Operations Center
  • Act as a liaison between pre-sales engineering, post-sales engineering and implementation teams
  • Produce network implementation and migration plans
  • Produce and review technical statement of work documentation including Visio Network Drawings
  • Assists Senior Level Engineers with evaluation of customer and service provider networks for performance, scalability, and security
  • Design and implement VoIP, Hosted PBX, Internet, MetroEthernet and MPLS networks.
  • Work with internal technical teams and vendors for product placement and feature improvements for reliability, availability, and serviceability
  • Assists data and voice engineers with solutions testing, design, and planning for deployments of new products and features
  • Programs equipment using pre-defined scripts
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Detail oriented, highly organized
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.  Must be able to work nights and weekends as necessary
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to follow instructions, take notes and perform tasks consistently.
  • Detailed knowledge of Ethernet and IP Subnetting
  • Basic knowledge of IP routing protocols such as BGP, ISIS, EIGRP and of enhanced technologies such as MPLS a plus
  • DWDM, Access technologies (DSL, GPON, Active Ethernet), Layer 3 Traffic Engineering and L2 Traffic Management a plus
  • Knowledge of VoIP and QOS standards a plus
  • Ability to create, test, document and follow processes
 Qualifications and Education:
  • Associate's degree in a technical field with network related coursework.
