Development Special Events Summer Assistant (Tanglewood)

Great summer opportunity to assist the Development Special Events department with basic administrative tasks as well as assistance in the production of various events. 
Responsibilities:
Assists on the planning and execution of specified events, including:  
  • Assist with mailings for events, stuffing, addressing and mailing invitations and confirmation letters.  
  • Maintain proper RSVP lists and follow up with non-respondents, as needed. 
  • Make confirmation calls to guests. Create nametags and other event related materials. 
  • Follow up post-event on acknowledgments to chairs, in-kind donors, and support staff. Additionally, follow up post-event on activities related to the distribution of photos and notes as appropriate to guests and committees. 
  • Staff events - assist with production before, during and after the event. Also staff the volunteer office, when needed.  Assist with volunteers questions, answer phones, etc. 
  • Assist with the proper processing of donations with Gift processing in the Tessitura software system, as needed. 
  • Maintain complete event binders with all appropriate documentation.   
  • Additional duties and errands  may be required. 
Qualifications: 
  • Some administrative experience in a fast-paced environment is preferable.
  • Proven attention to detail required.
  • Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of database management is a plus.
  • Access to a vehicle and ability to use it.

 

Dates of Employment: June  15–August 27  2017. This position will require night and weekend work, not to exceed 40 hours per week.    HOUSING NOT PROVIDED
