Assistant Dormitory Supervisor (Tanglewood)

Work as part of residential life team to assure the smooth day-to-day operations of dormitory office, and that needs of residents and TMC management are met in a timely and professional manner. Serve as additional liaison between TMC management, faculty, and students regarding residential issues. Requires residence in the dormitory, Miss Hall’s School (MHS), for the full session.

 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Assist in communicating to residents all dormitory guidelines, arrival and departure details, seasonal and daily transportation details, and practice room policies.
    Assist with housing assignments, check-in and departure events, seasonal transportation, and room inspections. 
  • Serve as a contact and resource on residential and personal issues for students. Resolve routine matters as they arise, and work with the Dormitory Supervisor and Associate Director for Student Affairs to resolve more serious matters and implement student disciplinary actions. Promptly advise Associate Director for Student Affairs of observations and concerns, including potentially harmful student behaviors.
  • Assist in posting and updating of TMC student schedules.
  • Participate in all daily dormitory office activities when scheduled to work office or daytime on-call hours, including maintaining student database. Serve as the staff member on-call overnight on a rotating basis. 
  • Assist with planning and execution of student activities, including student parties. 
  • Additional duties as assigned.  
  •  Assist with housing assignments, check-in and departure events, seasonal transportation, and room inspections. 
     
    Qualifications:
    • Experience working in residential life, college degree, familiarity with and interest in classical music is preferred.
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, tact, patience, and the ability to establish and maintain trust and confidentiality.
    • Must be comfortable in dealing with a variety of disciplinary actions.
    • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
    • Must be able to work well as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Basic computer proficiency is required.
    • Valid drivers' license and clean driving record required.

    WEEKLY SALARY:                        $455.00

     

     

    HOURS:                                 Rotating Office Hours plus on-call residence duty schedule
